6 months later

6 months and over 2,000 views later so much had changed.

My vision has sharpened. My expectations for life have heightened. Turning 30 feels and looks great. I found my voice through words and I have fallen more in LOVE with myself.

This blog was developed in August, 2014 when I was in a great deal of frustration, embarrassment and disbelief. Instead of dealing with my issues in a different way, I decided to create this platform thanks to the encouragement of a dear friend.

I must say this has been one of my best accomplishments to date. To think that I have the ability to create all these pieces and have the courage to share what’s in my heart is pretty amazing. I thank everyone and anyone who has decided to follow me on my journey, who leaves comments on my posts and who are just inspired overall. Writing is a form of self expression that captures raw and pure emotion and I am happy to be apart of this community that celebrates “soul writing”.

Through my blog, I will continue to give all my readers only quality level pieces that will connect to what it means to LOVE and LOVE unconditionally. I hope my words lead you to compassion, patience and understanding.

Always remember, “Until we know what it is to love ourselves we won’t know what it is to LOVE one another”. ❤️

Fast, Give, Prepare and Pray

As today marks the beginning of Lent, I hope that you all will take this time to refrain from the things you cling to the most. The things you tell yourself you can’t live without. The things that consume you’re being or occupy most of your time.

Sometimes we have to learn to be away from things for a while so we can appreciate them a little more. There is an assignment, an internal project that we need take care of that we have put off for way too long. Like the saying goes, “There’s no time like the present”.

Lent in my opinion, Is a time to remain in prayer, align yourself closer with God and become more in tuned spiritually. You can take this time to clean up your character and reflect on your actions. Sometimes we fall off track and lose our balance. Take this time to find your center. Rid yourself from the toxins that clutter your mind body and soul.

For this Lenten season, I have decided to abstain from the use of social media (except for blogging) as well as the consumption of chips. Yes chips are like the best thing to me since slice bread, this shall be a challenge. I know there will be some temptations but I shall remain steadfast to the task and focused.

I wish you all the best during this season of lent. Let us eat well, let us pray without ceasing and let us LOVE ourselves and each other completely. ❤️

LOVE Out Loud

Earlier this week, a high school friend of mine sent me the link to Ed Sheeran’s video, “Thinking Out Loud”. She expressed that she felt my LOVE was on it’s way. The mere thought of the message and video warmed my heart. As I listened to the words of the song my eyes started watering up completely. I think to be in LOVE is one of the greatest things you could be apart of. As I wait my turn, I am blessed to be completely surrounded by what LOVE looks like. LOVE is found in all relationships. Today, don’t hesitate to share, express, profess and show your special someone how much their soul sets you on fire.

Don’t take anyone’s LOVE for granted. Consider the words, “I LOVE You” a blessing. Whether it’s echoed from the lips of a partner, family member or friend, know that your LOVE makes the world go around.

Below is the link to the video. May it restore, renew and refresh your vision of LOVE. Happy LOVE Day!!!❤️🎈❤️

My Mr. Right

You showed me the signs that it could never be you. You lose connections with people you choose.

In our brief encounter you set the bar high for my expectations of a partner. You were one with adventure, passion for life, ambitious and humble. You were God fearing and showed love for your family. You were attentive, considerate and observant. Our conversations left me always wanting more as we debated about life and current world affairs.

It’s ok to have found these things in someone who I will never be with. These temporary moments are only preparing me for the permanence God is going to place in my life. I will continue to absorb, soak up and bask in God’s light as I remain patient for my “Mr. Right”. ❤️

Purposeful Path

What is the meaning of “purpose”? To me it is defined as intentional, meaningful and deliberate.

I think it’s important to examine the importance of this word.

As I move deeper into understanding myself. I realize that everything I do should be done with purpose.

My interactions with friends, acquaintances and men should all be done with purpose.

My walk, my talk and my thoughts should echo purpose.

The conversations I engage in should be of purpose. I should walk away from all verbal interactions with more knowledge and insight than I had before.

When thinking of my career it should always resonate purpose. I should strive to be always be a better professional when at work, continue to move with integrity, build character and broaden my professional network.

The men I date should be of purpose. I should be dating men who are truly invested in wanting to build with hopes of settling down. Just because I’m single doesn’t mean everyone is privy of my time.

The man you decide to sleep with should be of purpose. It should be someone that you are in a relationship with. Ladies, don’t give your cookie away for free. More importantly, the man who you let undress you and have a part of you should be the man you can see raising your children. When you reach a certain point in your life there can’t be such a thing as an “unexpected pregnancy” so choose your partner wisely.

Always remember to walk towards a path that leads your heart to purpose.❤️
